Toddler Diarrhea: How to deal with it?

Chronic diarrhea is a term used for the infants. The same is termed 'irritable bowel syndrome' for older children. Toddler diarrhea is a widespread disease that occurs between the children ranging the age starting from six months to three years. As the child proceeds towards his fourth year, this disease drastically diminishes. The length of the timings of this diarrhea extends for two weeks or even more which certainly gives complication to the parents and even the general practitioners.

Warning signs of Toddler Diarrhea

If the toddler is having two to six diluted stools in one day, it indicates that he is suffering from diarrhea. If the child is severely disrupted with diarrhea, he is more likely suffering from severe diarrhea. The child can also have no stools at all on some days. The stool that they pass includes those food elements that are not digested. The baffling part of the disease is that it does not make any effect in the development of the baby. The disease does not contain any sort of early indication which would introduce the signs. If the test of the baby has been taken and it comes out to be negative, it means that the stool of the baby does not contain blood in it and also that there is not abnormal tenderness related to the condition. This sort of diarrhea that the children suffer from sometimes indicates a link to the history of colic, which is an acute abdominal pain and as well a family history of irritable bowel syndrome, which is recurrent abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Arising of Toddler Diarrhea

There are a large number of classes that are associated with diarrhea in the toddlers. There has been no role or indication being shown due to the encounter of microorganisms or transmittable parasites which would cause the disease to occur. The problem that would generally cause the disease links to the food intake of the child. If you will overindulge the baby with fluids, or an excess of intake of carbohydrates, or give the child a lessen amount of fat in his diet, it gives entrance to diarrhea. Even if you give the child a more than required intake of sugar, it will raise the level of getting diarrhea.

How to cure Toddler Diarrhea

A sensible act to do is to provide the diet with a custom-made diet. Reducing the amount of Carbohydrates as well as sugar will do a high-quality job. There should not be a regular intake of sugary fruit juices. Try to remove it completely from the menu of the baby. Make an increment of the food containing a good amount of fat in it, so that it would supply 40% of the total calories required by the baby in a day. Cutting down the intake of fluid is essential. It is more advised to increase the amount of high fiber in the diet of the baby for example includes high fiber fruits, cereals, and bread. If necessary, anti-diarrhea medicines should be given but for a limited period of time. It is recommended not to use it for a longer period of time particularly when the case of the disease is severe. Before going for any sort of natural medication, it is important to consult a physician. It should be kept in mind that in most of the cases, toddler diarrhea is not a disease to be worried about because most of the time it does not involve any side effect. Just giving proper diet to the child will restore to health.
